Sunday Mornings for 6 weeks beginning March 23, 24
(Timed to begin shortly after the Vernal Equinox)
We may not consciously consider it but are continually unfolding; essentially our lives are a process of becoming. This unfoldment is mirrored in the birth chart, the cosmic map I refer to as an alchemical compass.
We, our lives, are a process. Like the caterpillar cocooning itself, digesting itself, and reemerging in a radically new form, the butterfly, we die to ourselves again and again throughout our lifetime. This cycle, the mysterious evolution of death, and rebirth is endless yet most often we attempt to hang on to the safe shell of our old form not trusting our evolving self.
When we try to subvert this process we become strangers to ourselves. After all, a baby who has become too large for the womb must be born. The process is primal, like childbirth it is beyond our control. It is life being life, separating and reforming, emerging into a new world.
In our charts, if we learn how to view them as a mirror of this unfolding process and thus use them to guide us along this pilgrimage, this process is powerfully seen through our Sun, Moon, and nodes.
As Jane Meredith says in her book Embodied Kabbalah, light is intrinsic to our stories about the beginnings of things. However, while we can measure the speed of light, see light, and perceive how it feels, light itself, what it actually is is still a mystery. It is intrinsic to our process, part of us but beyond definition.
When I read this it immediately opened the door to a deeper way of looking at the birth chart. This class was created from this revelation. I view it as a way of opening a door and creating an intuition.
The Sun and the Moon are lights rather than planets. The Sun is the light of the day, and the Moon the light of the night. The nodes are a blend of their two orbital paths and are profoundly connected with our ever-evolving purpose as we move through life.
In the 1600’s Italian astrologer, Giordano Bruno called the Sun the heart of the chart. The Sun represents the light that illuminates from within.
As the Sun illuminates the Moon, the Sun filters its energy through our physical lives. It instigates the process by which we move forward. It is the compulsion to life, the purpose behind the initiating energy. Can we know where it’s taking us or why?
The Moon represents all that we are summed up to be in this life. It represents our body, yes, but it also represents what has been called the ‘egoic sheath’–both the psychic and physical energy that defines me as a separate being, past, current and future. Depending on where your beliefs lie, it is all our past time summed up in current time, which is continually moving to future time. It is what I was, but it is also what I will be, which exists in me now and which has always existed in nascent form. The natal chart itself embodies our physical incarnation, our physical birth, and as such has a lunar connotation.
Often we’re advised to do what’s in our heart and reject defining ourselves by our outer circumstances. We’re told to choose the heart over the head, and reject overthinking and over-analyzing. But how many of us have difficulty knowing just what the heart is whispering to us? How are we to move forward? Overthinking and over-analyzing cause the mind to give power to the limitations of the current physical environment, assigning power to what is outside the self, rather than give due to what is within. When we allow our perceived limitations to take over, we remain in the dark realm, and we lose the power of the Sun to guide us forward.
When we consciously align with our inner lights we experience being embraced by life. We know we belong to the world: To this moment, to this place where we already stand. When we consciously work to integrate our conscious with our unconscious we discover that something greater has ushered us to place and time.
That is the magic of working with your chart. Beyond a reading, it acts as a wise guide, the ancient elder in the room whose wisdom and insight are boundless.
In this six-week process-orientated workshop we will essentially be practicing dancing with our lights. By apprenticing ourselves to the music of the spheres, our particular resonance with all that is revealed through the wisdom of our charts, we can begin to embody the pattern within the dance. It is numinous. It is incandescent. Participants will not only see but experience the wonder and mystery of consciously using what is revealed just by their own lights (Sun/Moon)and emerge experiencing a profound sense of belonging to themselves.
You don’t need to have any previous experience with astrology and if you are either a student or astrologer or a professional this workshop will deepen your way of interacting with your chart as you move through life.
This workshop is for anyone who yearns to experience being more connected to themselves on the pathway of their lives. Participants can expect to have a breakthrough in their creativity and self-expression, a rekindling of aliveness within their life as they encounter the magnificent mystery of their own existence as revealed through their natal chart.
As with all of my classes, this will be a small group as I have found it lends to both the power and intimacy of the experience. In addition to class time, I am giving each student a private 30-minute one on one session to more profoundly explore and illuminate the messages of the heart of their charts. We will practice attuning ourselves, through guided meditations, imagery, self-care practices, visualizations, myth-making, and creative projects. As well as some of the tools in my 30-year background facilitating Julia Cameron’s The Artist’s Way. There is a total of ten spaces (one is already accounted for)
Sunday’s from 10-12 am (PST)
March 23- May 4 (No class Easter Sunday
$350
This is a Zoom Workshop so you can participate from anywhere. Participants will receive video recordings of all classes, it is not necessary to attend in person ( Although I highly recommend being live for at least some of the classes). This is an embodied experiential workshop (yes, even over Zoom) personalized to the participants. To register please reach out to me by phone or email:
